Broadchurch (First Season) (English Review)

While I was in England, this TV show was aired and I was so stupid I missed it. Moreover, I didn't know it existed until I watch the promo in Spanish television channel. When I saw David Tennant in the promo, everything was decided.

The series starts with the discover of an 11-year-old boy body and the consequences it leads to. Through the eight episodes which compose this first season, we realize every person in this small town in the English coast has his/her secrets. Nobody is cleared of suspicion and detectives Alec Hardy and Elie Miller are the ones trying to find out who might have committed such an awful crime. But we'll also realize that maybe the truth is too shocking and painful.

Even if Broadchuch might be similar to The Killing (dead boy/girl and two detectives, male and female, trying to solve the crime), it's completely different for me, and I liked The Killing a lot too.

What I love the most about Broadchurch is that approach to every character (as well as great performances).

Lo que más me gusta de Broadchurch es ese acercamiento a cada personaje (además con geniales interpretaciones). 

*Alec Hardy: a detective that solving this case tries to redeem for a past mistake, even if it costs him his health. 

*Ellie Miller: a nice, family woman with a good image in her community. Due to her detective position she has to learn how to separate both personal and professional life. 

*The Latimers: a family apparently perfect that starts to have a breakdown after the younger son (Danny) dies. This causes secrets not very pleasant begin to come out.

These are the main characters but obviously there are even more. It should be point out the press role in this kind of case, how they are so eager to obtain a good scoop they ignore that with the wrong words they can ruin lots of people life.

So, I insistently recommend you to watch this series if you have the chance (better in V.O). I assure you the finale episode will make your blood freeze. Do you want to find out who killed Danny Latimer?

THE BEST: Acting, story, music...practically EVERYTHING.

THE WORST: Nothing at all.
