This is the End (English Review)
Movies about the world's end are quite in lately (blame the Mayans), but "This is the End" is not another one more film about apocalypse since it has an original and different touch.
The end of days comes so unexpectedly it catches James Franco in a party with his friends. Sheltered in Franco's house, a group of comic actors (playing themselves) will have to survive to what seems to be Hell on Earth. Among these actors we can find Seth Rogen, Jay
Baruchel, Jonah Hill, Dany McBride and Craig Robinson (apart from Jame Franco, of course).
The movie has a plot at least curious and the thing is that it's always entertaining to see actors playing and parodying themselves to the limit. There is no doubt the one I laughed the most with has been Michael Cera (he doesn't last much in the movie though). Emma Watson's appearance is also remarkable, with the resulting jokes about how Britons are used to eat rubbish and the hilarious quote from Danny McBride, "Hermione just stole all our shit".
Some negative points I see are Craig Robinson (in my opinion, there is no a single moment this guy does or say anything funny) and the "Gangnam Style" scene, which tries to make people laugh just because of that stupid song. Everything else is perfect, specially the beginning and that AWESOME FINAL with SPOILER Backstreet Boys!
THE BEST: Michael Cera playing himself. Such a creep...but a funny creep.
THE WORST: As I've already said, Craig Robinson and the "Gangnam Style" scene.
GRADE: 8/10
