Cheap Thrills

La idea de "Cheap Thrills" me recordó mucho al relato de Roald Dahl, "Man from the South", y a la posterior adaptación realizada por Quentin Tarantino, "Man from Hollywood". 

The idea of "Cheap Thrills" reminds me a lot to Roald Dahl's tale "Man from the South" and to the later adaptation made by Quentin Tarantino, "Man from Hollywood".

En la película vemos cómo Craig (Pat Healy) intenta mantener a su familia trabajando como mecánico. La cosa se complica cuando el mismo día, al pobre hombre lo despiden y además recibe una notificación de desalojamiento de su apartamento a menos que pague el alquiler. Con la intención de ahogar las penas en el alcohol, Craig va a un bar, en el que acaba encontrándose con un amigo del instituto, Vince (Ethan Embry). A la "fiesta" se les unirá una pareja, Colin y Violet (David Koechner y Sara Paxton), que empiezan a prometerles ciertas cantidades de dinero por realizar acciones cada vez más locas. 

In the movie, we see how Craig (Pat Healy) tries to maintain his family working as a mechanic. Things get complicated when, on the same day, the poor guy gets fired and also receives an eviction notice for his apartment if he doesn't pay the rent. With the intention of drowning his problem on alcohol, Craig goes to a bar, where he meets a friend from high school, Vince (Ethan Embry). A couple will join them in the "party", Colin and Violet (David Koechner and Sarah Paxton), who start promising certain amounts of money if they performance some actions that get more and more crazy.

La verdad es que el argumento ya prometía, pero ha acabado siendo muchísimo mejor de lo que pensaba. He disfrutado cada segundo de la película, y el final es simplemente apoteósico. Todos los actores están geniales, pero tengo que destacar a Pat Healy y a Ethan Embry, que no lo pueden hacer mejor porque es imposible. Y es que no sólo es una película divertida a más no poder, sino que llega el momento en el que la historia evoluciona hasta convertirse en un magnífico relato sobre los límites morales del ser humano.

It is true that the plot seemed promising, but it turned out to be even better than I thought. I've enjoyed every second of the movie and the ending is simply tremendous. Every actor is great, but I have to highlight the work of Pat Healy and Ethan Embry, who can't do it better because that's impossible. And well, it's not just that it is a incredibly fun movie, but also the moment comes when the story evolves to become a magnificent tale about the moral limits of the human being.
